The Averill Park Central School District invites residents to hear from the candidates running for the Board of Education during a Meet the Candidates Night on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m.
There are eight (8) candidates seeking three (3) open seats on the Board of Education this year. Each carries a new three-year term beginning July 1, 2022. Candidate bios will be posted on the District website in the near future.
Candidates include (in order listed on the ballot as determined by a random drawing):

- Jenaliegh Schroeder
- Meghan McGarry
- Darryl Borton
- Samantha Hicks
- Walter Spallane, Jr.
- Ronald Gibson
The Meet the Candidates Night will include a question-and-answer period. To submit a question, email meetthecandidates@apcsd.org by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 29. Questions should be general and addressed to all candidates. Due to time constraints, all questions may not be answered. The District may compile and edit questions based on popular themes.
Candidates will each be allowed a two-minute introduction to begin. This will be followed by a series of questions asked by the moderator which each candidate will have a set time to respond. A one-minute closing statement per candidate will end the session.
