  7. AMS Holds 19th Annual...

Today AMS held its 19th Annual RRAD, Richtol’s Read All Day!

This day is a celebration of books and literacy. RRAD is named in memory of Literacy teacher Ms. Richtol who was an enthusiastic champion of reading and was beloved by many students, staff and faculty.

Today students were treated to guest readers in the cafeteria who shared some fabulous stories, as well as a story from the principal, Mr. Messia.

Award winning author Dan Gemeinhart from Washington State was our virtual guest for RRAD! Mr. Gemeinhart spoke about the persistence he needed when he had 99 rejections before his first book was published. Students had great questions for him about his own favorite books, his new book coming out, (The Midnight Children), and his very first books. He is the author of Scar Island, Some Kind of Courage, Good Dog, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise and The Honest Truth.
