  7. Retirements: Kevin Earl

Kevin Earl was inspired to pursue a job in education by his own teachers and coaches while attending Ilion High School. After 28 years of being an inspiration to students in the Averill Park Central School District, he is ready to retire.

“There are many memories of simple day-to-day interactions with students and colleagues,” he said, adding that a few moments that have stuck out. “Big memories include responding to an emergency with AMS colleagues administering CPR on an 8th grader; a yearbook dedication; being the graduation speaker; and being the all-time champ of the AMS Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest.”

Overall, Coach Earl will miss the daily interactions and involvement in the lives of young people.

In retirement, he will continue coaching and will get to his “honey do’s” done for the first time in his life. He also plans to spend more time with family and will do odd jobs for family and friends.
