8TH GRADE TRANSITION EVENTS

Believe it or not, we have reached the time of year where our 8th graders will begin getting information about our high school for next year. Two events are coming up in January:

January 10th – a team from APHS is coming to talk to the 8th grade students during the day about the high school and the transition process from 8th to 9th grade.

January 24th – APHS elective teachers will be at AMS during lunches for the annual elective fair. Interested 8th grade students will be able to meet the teachers and hear about their elective classes during their lunch time.

From the Poestenkill Public Library:

Need a good excuse to stay in bed reading all day, or a fun distraction to help you while away the cold, gray, winter days? We have just the thing! Get yeti — the Winter Reading Program is back at Poestenkill Library.

This year’s program will run from 1/9/23 – 2/18/23, and is open to ALL ages. We have plenty of fun planned and prize opportunities available for everyone; from the youngest pre-readers, children, and teens, to our most experienced adult readers. We’ll also have an interactive Winter Reading display in the library again. To coordinate with this year’s yeti theme, we’re going to build a forest home for our reading yeti. Participants can add a tree sticker to the display for each book read!

So, are you yeti to have some fun? Register online now at https://forms.gle/WsAVTNoLotXPbqds8, or fill out a paper registration at the library, after January 1.

From the North Greenbush Library:

Tween Book Club:  Our next Tween Book Club meeting will be held Saturday, January 21 at 12:00 pm. They will be discussing the book Winterborne Home for Vengeance and Valor by Ally Carter. The meetings include book discussion, a related craft and snacks. All tweens (ages 10-12) are welcome!
