CHANGE TO END OF MARKING PERIOD DATE

As a result of the numerous weather-related impacts on instruction, AMS will be extending the current second marking period through the end of the day on Wednesday, February 1.

As a result, the third marking period and third quarter classes will begin on Thursday, February 2.

Second marking period report cards will be mailed home on Friday, February 10.

Thank you for your understanding.

AMS REMOTE LEARNING INFORMATION

As the district office communicated earlier this week, remote learning may be implemented on days when there are poor weather-related road conditions.

Information about AMS Remote Learning was shared with students on Wednesday’s morning announcements and each student created their own remote learning schedule.

Click here to see slides from the video shared with students that provides more information about what AMS Remote Learning looks like.

Click here to see a sample student Remote Learning Schedule or ask your child to share their copy with you.

Some of the most important details for families to know include:

  • Students will start their day in virtual Morning Meeting at 8:45am

  • Students will participate in all of their classes in regular order for 30 minute sessions

  • There will be no Access Period on remote learning days

  • The student day will end at 1:45pm

On the morning of the use of remote learning reminder information will be emailed directly to students.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

FROM THE APO

Sadly our Winter BEACH PARTY was canceled because of the weather, but has been rescheduled and combined with the WINTER CARNIVAL on MARCH 1 right after school.

Students will be able to take a late bus home at 4:00 or you can pick up at the main entrance at 4:30.

If students are taking the late bus, they do need to let the main office know!

$5 event tickets will be sold during lunches on Tuesday, Feb 28 and Wednesday, March 1.

There will be beach ball volleyball games, LIMBO, relay races, carnival games, snow cones, cotton candy and crafts. Leis, sunglasses, snacks and water will also be for sale.

For each ticket paid, the students will receive 1 FREE snow cone cup.

Our last APO meeting that will cover our remaining events of 2023 will be on March 13 from 7-8pm in the Library. We hope to see you there!

We will chat about our Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, Spring Book Fair, another Movie Night, 8th Grade Farewell Dance, and 8th Grade Graduation.
