THANK YOU FOR A GREAT SCHOOL YEAR

As we prepare for the last day of school, we would like to thank everyone for a great year. We are so fortunate to have such a supportive school community. The hard work of our students, staff and families has made this a year to remember. GRADE 8 – CHROMEBOOK & CHARGER TURN IN – THURSDAY

Attention Grade 8 Students and Families: Grade 8 students are asked to turn in their Chromebook and charger on Thursday, June 22nd.  Students will receive a new Chromebook for the start of ninth grade.  All grades 6 and 7 students will keep their Chromebooks at home this summer.  Thank you.

GRADE 8 VISIT TO APHS

To assist with the transition process, all AMS grade 8 students will participate in a visit to APHS on Wednesday, June 21 from 11am until 1pm.  There students will learn more about the high school program first hand from students, teachers and principals.  Sessions will include a Q and A session, meet the counselors, extracurricular opportunities and a chance to tour the building.

GRADE 8 STUDENT PICNIC WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 2023

On Wednesday, June 21, 2023, grade 8 students will participate in an end-of-year picnic.  In addition to an outdoor lunch with their friends, students will participate in an activity of their choosing including Tiger Ball, tie-dye, rock painting, and board games to name a few.   Mr. Ding-a-Ling will also be on hand selling ice cream and other treats.  Prices will range from $1-$6.

In order to participate, students must be in good behavioral standing.  Any students who receive 2 or more referrals, ESD, ISS, or OSS between May 30 and June 21 will attend a teacher-supported study hall instead.

Please encourage your student to make good choices between now and June 21st. We look forward to all students earning an opportunity to participate in this fun event!

REMINDERS FROM THE HEALTH OFFICE 

  • All medications must be picked up by 6/23 before noon, please call to arrange a pick up time 518-674-7103.

  • All students trying out for fall sports will need a physical on file that was completed after 8/31/2022.

  • Students entering grades 7 and 9 will need a physical on file in the health office which was completed after 9/1/22.

  • All students entering grade 6 must have received the T-dap immunization within 14 days of turning age 11.

  • All  students entering grade 7 must have received the meningococcal -A immunization.

AP ALL SPORTS CAMP IS BACK!

Chris Anderson and Mike Cavotta are proud to announce the return of AP All-Sports Camp!  This non-competitive games camp for elementary and middle school students will take place June 28 – July 1, from 9 AM to noon at Algonquin Middle School.  The cost is $I20 per camper but discounted rates are available for families.  Visit apallsportscamp.com for more information and to register online.  Finally, email any camp questions to apallsportscamp@gmail.com.

All Averill Park students have access to thousands of free and amazing ebooks and audiobooks through Sora. https://soraapp.com/welcome  Students log in through their Google account.  They select Questar III Boces and then APCSD and then can begin searching for books.  Please email Mrs. Ekstrom if you have questions: ekstromr@apcsd.org These e-books are available through the generous support of the Questar III School Library System.
