  7. APEF Gala on November...

Dear Averill Park Families,

We would like to invite you to attend the Averill Park Education Foundation’s 17th Annual Gala! For those of you unfamiliar with the event, it is a fundraising event held each year at Old Daley on Crooked Lake the Friday before Thanksgiving. This year the Gala will be held on Friday, November 17th from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Honorees are selected by members of the Averill Park community by a nomination process that goes out at the end of each school year. This year, we are honored to be recognizing this year’s award recipients:

2023 Educator Award: Jeff Brown &
2023 Community Award: Jeanne Stewart

Through the funds raised at the Gala each year, we are able to support various grants throughout the Averill Park School District. We are very excited to announce that we have again funded grants in each building within the District.

  • Some highlights of the 2022-2023 grant year include:
  • Therapy Dog at West Sand Lake Elementary
  • Tay Fisher Anti-Bullying Presentation
  • Reading/Flex Spaces in each Elementary School
  • Campus Wide Composting at APHS
  • GlowForge Laser at AMS

In addition to the grants we’ve been able to provide in the buildings and classroom, we have also partnered with the Averill Park Central School District to fund a number of Educator Enrichment Grants again this year making it so that teachers within the District have been able to attend (or will be attending over the summer) professional development helping them to expand their skills and knowledge and grow as educators.

The complete list of grants provided to the District since our origination is available on our website under the ‘Grants’ tab, https://apefoundation.org/

With your support and the support of our many community partnerships we are able to continue providing enriching opportunities to every student, everyday. If you would like to attend the Gala, please register here: https://tinyurl.com/2023GalaRegistration or through our website and/ or social media pages.

We hope to see you at the Gala!
