The Brunswick Cares Food Pantry hosted a community Tent and Bake Sale recently under the leadership of Pam Hoyt, with proceeds benefitting the Averill Park CSD and Brittonkill CSD Backpack Programs.
The event, sponsored by the Brunswick Church, donated $2,437.50 to the Averill Park Backpack Program, which helps alleviate hunger by providing disadvantaged children with backpacks full of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food on Fridays so that they will have something to eat throughout the weekend.
