COLLEGE AND POST-SECONDARY THEME DAY – TUES, NOV. 12

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, AMS will be celebrating a “Post-Secondary Theme Day.” Students are encouraged to wear college, military service or post-secondary training gear as part of this theme day. This will coincide with our Grade 8 student assembly on college planning and college life. Also on this day teachers will take a moment with each of their classes to talk about some aspect of their post-secondary training, military and/or college experience with students. Finally, please use this as an opportunity to have a discussion with your child about their thinking and potential plans beyond high school graduation.

THIS WEDNESDAY AT 6PM: SCREENAGERS

Join us at the High School Auditorium on Wednesday, November 6th at 6pm for a free showing of the new film “Screenagers: The Next Chapter.”
Families are encouraged to attend the movie together to promote discussion about its content.
This movie highlights “the science behind teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media, and most importantly, what can be done in our schools and homes to help them build crucial skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.”
Following the showing, a brief discussion will occur with school principals, counselors, students and families.
