On Thursday, Nov. 14, the inaugural Tastemakers contest between the WSL, PES and MHSL Elementary Schools was held at 16 Handles.
Mrs. Julianne Urban Strano, grade 4 teacher representing WSL, and Mr. Denis Sibson, principal at Miller Hill-Sand Lake, faced off against two students who won the Poestenkill Elementary School Principal of the Day contest, Brealynn Bourgault and Peyton Catlin. Each contestant made a combination of yogurt and toppings that they thought would reign supreme. Judges rated each dish on creativity, appearance and taste.
Brealynn and Peyton won the 16 Handles competition and took home the first-place prize for Poestenkill!
A portion of sales between 6-9 p.m. will go to the schools. Thank you to all of those who came out to the event. APCSD showed great school spirit! Thank you to our PTAs and 16 Handles for sponsoring this event as well.
