Averill Park graduate, Miss Jackie Jurs, visited her former elementary school West Sand Lake recently, presenting information to grade 4/5 students on bats and white nose syndrome.
Miss Jurs was joined by Mr. Al Hicks, who was instrumental in research and discovery on white nose syndrome in bats. The WSL students were captivated by Miss Jurs and they were an actively engaged audience, posing many questions.
Miss Jurs is currently a sophomore at SUNY Cobleskill studying Wildlife Management. Her elementary teachers are very proud of her and hope she does future visits throughout her college and professional careers.
