Faculty from our three elementary schools met on Thursday (Feb. 27) to review options for a K-5 ELA curriculum that will be implemented next school year.
The day followed a few meetings that helped establish the criteria for what the district is seeking in a curriculum. Additionally, the group has worked previously to create rubrics that were used to evaluate the curriculum.
After Thursday’s work, the group plans to narrow their focus to a few options and have those selected publishers come in to do a formal presentation and answer questions from the committee. Finally, members from the group will take visits to schools to observe classrooms that are already implementing the curriculums being considered.
