Residents Approve Budget & Bus Proposition
Averill Park Central School District residents have approved a $52,867,185 budget for the 2014-15 school year by a vote of 1036 (yes) to 358 (no). This budget represents a 1.16 percent decrease in spending over the current year’s budget and will result in an estimated 2.02 percent tax rate increase for residents.
Voters also approved a $647,000 bus proposition to purchase eight new buses, one pickup/plow truck and one tractor by a vote of 918 (yes) to 409 (no).
Residents also elected two members to the Board of Education:
• Doriann Salisbury (965 votes)
• Jeanine Glasser (1021 votes)
